Detrol

Detrol (TOLE-tear-oh-deen) is used to treat bladder problems such as frequent need to urinate or loss of control of urinary function. Detrol is available only with your doctor's prescription, in the following dosage form: Oral Tablets (U.S.) Extended Release Capsules (U.S.)

Detrol is used to relieve urinary difficulties, including frequent urination and inability to control urination. Detrol is in a class of medications called antimuscarinics. It works by preventing bladder contraction.

Detrol comes as a tablet and an extended-release (long-acting) capsule to take by mouth. The tablet is usually taken twice a day. The extended-release capsule is usually taken once a day with liquids. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Detrol exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the extended-release capsules whole; do not split, chew, or crush them.
