Diflunisal is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce the pain and inflammation (swelling) caused by arthritis or other inflammatory conditions. Diflunisal is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
Diflunisal comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It usually is taken two or three times a day. Do not chew or crush the tablets; swallow them whole. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Diflunisal exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. It may take several days for the full effect of Diflunisal to be felt. |
