Emcyt ( ess-tra-MUSS-teen) belongs to the general group of medicines called antineoplastics. It is used to treat some cases of prostate cancer. Emcyt is a combination of two medicines, an estrogen and mechlorethamine. The way that Emcyt works against cancer is not completely understood. However, it seems to interfere with the growth of cancer cells, which are eventually destroyed.
