Lovenox Injection (Home Infusion)

Your doctor has ordered enoxaparin, an anticoagulant ''blood thinner'', to prevent harmful blood clots from forming. It is often prescribed for patients after hip or knee replacement surgery. It works by stopping the formation of substances that cause clots. The drug will be injected under the skin (subcutaneously) one or two times daily. Lovenox Injection (Home Infusion) is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Your health care provider (doctor, nurse, or pharmacist) may measure the effectiveness and side effects of your treatment using laboratory tests and physical examinations. It is important to keep all appointments with your doctor and the laboratory. The length of treatment depends on how you respond to the medication.
