Meloxicam

Meloxicam (mel-OX-i-kam) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve some symptoms of arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain. However, Meloxicam does not cure arthritis and will help you only as long as you continue to take it. Meloxicam is available only with your doctor's prescription, in the following dosage forms: Oral Suspension (U.S.) Tablets (U.S. and Canada)

Meloxicam is used to relieve the pain, tenderness, inflammation (swelling), and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis. Meloxicam is in a class of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs). It works by stopping the body's production of a substance that causes pain, fever, and inflammation.

Meloxicam comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day with or without food. To help you remember to take Meloxicam, take it around the same time every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Meloxicam exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
