Mirapex (pra-mi-PEX-ole) is used to treat Parkinson's disease. It may be used alone, or in combination with levodopa or other medicines to treat this disease. Mirapex is available only with your doctor's prescription, in the following dosage form(s): Oral Tablets (U.S. and Canada)
Mirapex is used to treat the signs and symptoms of Parkinson's disease, including tremors (shaking), stiffness, and slowness of movement. Mirapex is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Mirapex comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken three times a day. Your doctor will increase your dose as needed on a weekly basis. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Mirapex exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. Mirapex controls symptoms of Parkinson's disease but does not cure it. Continue to take Mirapex even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Mirapex without talking to your doctor. Stopping Mirapex suddenly may cause your condition to worsen.
