Nalidixic (nal-i-DIX-ik) acid is used to treat infections of the urinary tract. It may be used for other problems as determined by your doctor. NegGram is available only with your doctor's prescription, in the following dosage forms: Oral Tablets (U.S. and Canada)
NegGram, an antibiotic, eliminates bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. NegGram is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. NegGram comes as a caplet and a liquid to take by mouth. NegGram usually is taken four times a day for 7-14 days and is sometimes taken in smaller doses for longer periods of time. Shake the liquid well before each use to mix the medication evenly. Take NegGram with a full glass of water on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take NegGram exactly as directed.
