Truvada containing Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate and Emtricitabine is in a class of antiviral medications called reverse transcriptase inhibitors. It works by slowing the spread of HIV in the body. Truvada containing Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate and Emtricitabine is not a cure and may not decrease the number of HIV-related illnesses. Truvada containing Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate and Emtricitabine does not prevent the spread of HIV to other people.
Truvada containing Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate and Emtricitabine comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day with a meal. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Truvada containing Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate and Emtricitabine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. Continue to take Truvada containing Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate and Emtricitabine even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Truvada containing Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate and Emtricitabine without talking to your doctor. |
