Utravate

Utravate is used to treat swelling, inflammation, and itching associated with skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, and allergies. Utravate is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Utravate comes in ointment and cream for use on the skin. Utravate usually is used two to four times a day. Utravate should not be used for longer than 2 weeks. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use Utravate exactly as directed. Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor. Thoroughly clean the infected area, allow it to dry, and then gently rub the medication in until most of it disappears. Use just enough medication to cover the affected area. You should wash your hands after applying the medication. Do not use Utravate if you have an infection or sores on the area to be treated.
